Dexter: Resurrection Season 2's First Trailer Shows Off New Foes, Old Friends, and Dex's Midlife Crisis
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 has its first proper trailer, and it appears Dex is going through a midlife crisis while battling new (and old) threats.
The Bay Harbor Butcher will return to television screens this Halloween, and the latest trailer showcases all of the new issues he will face this season. Dexter is going through a midlife crisis as he gets older, now needing glasses as his eyesight appears to worsen. On top of that, New York has become fascinated by two other infamous serial killers: a younger one known as the Five Borough Killer (Dan Stevens) and an older one known as the New York Ripper (Brian Cox).
The newfound attention on both of these killers seems to be creating some kind of insecurity for Dexter, whose work largely goes unrecognized since he makes sure all evidence of his kills disappears. The new trailer also reveals that Dexter's son, Harrison, has joined the NYPD, which is sure to create friction between the father/son duo. It also wouldn't be Dexter without old faces returning to stir up trouble.

Joey Quinn, Dexter's former Miami Metro colleague, is in New York following the death of his pal Angel Batista in Season 1. Whether this will turn into yet another cat and mouse game between Dexter and a Miami detective remains to be seen. We also catch some glimpses of Uma Thurman's Charley getting re-involved with Dexter, as well as a shot of Krysten Ritter's Mia, who died last season. It's unclear if Mia is back from the dead or if she is yet another one of Dexter's "ghosts" that haunt him subconsciously.
All in all, it appears to be yet another juicy and suspenseful season of Dexter. The new season will premiere on October 30 and will roll out a new episode weekly for 10 weeks. The series will be available to stream on Paramount Plus through its premium plan.
